About

b. 1986, HK.

Hi. I'm Candice.

I'm a quirky human who loves making all kinds of things in all kinds of mediums, but I primarily focus on 3-dimensional creations.

I grew up in a family of visual artists, so thankfully, creative expression was always respected and encouraged. While I would dabble in various art classes during my schooling, I never put all of my energy into one specific style or medium. Whether it was photography, claymation, drawing, sculpting, video editing, crafting, painting, woodworking, whatever... I was happiest just to be creating something - and usually with my hands. And many things I would try would be all on my own, teaching myself by trial and error and watching others.

In 2005, I received a degree from the University of Maryland in American Studies, with focus areas in Media Studies and Popular Culture. It was in college that I taught myself video editing, and after graduating, I took some more film editing and production classes at the Corcoran College of Art and Design. This background helped me find my way into my current role as a Director of Digital Media, producing documentary-style videos and demonstrative graphics and visuals for the past fifteen years.

However, working at a computer for my day job left a void in me that was longing for more hands-on creating. With encouragement and support from those in my life, I rediscovered my love for 3-dimensional art and began exploring new avenues. I played around with decorating cakes, I found inspiration from other amazing artists and tried carving pumpkins, and began taking figure sculpting classes at The Art League in Alexandria, Virginia. I had re-awakened my inner artist.

For a while now, I've been pouring more and more energy into my art, and that has led me here: making a more serious go at "littledice creations" and reaffirming my life's goal to create things that make people smile.

I've realized throughout my life that I'm happiest when I'm bringing joy to others. Most friends and family can attest to the fact that I'm a bit of a nut, a scrappy little weirdo, and someone who will find a way to make you laugh. I strive for balance and I counter my more serious professional life with being forever a kid-at-heart. I have various interests outside of my art... things like staying active with rock climbing, consuming high-quality movies and shows, socializing with friends, and appreciating nature. Oh, and I also love squirrels.

I currently reside in the DC metro area.

I believe in embracing the entirety of the quote, “A jack of all trades, but master of none… is oftentimes better than master of one.” I have many passions and skills, so I refuse to pick just one lane!

I also co-produce and co-host a weekly podcast for Women in Film & Video called Media & Monuments which is available on nearly all podcast platforms as well as at mediaandmonuments.com
